Linde and SYS celebrate the world's first Oxyfuel Tundish Preheating System

On 19 May 2025, Dr. Joachim von Scheele, Director of Metal & Glass, and REBOX at Linde, graciously visited Siam Yamato Steel (SYS) at their Huaypong plant to commemorate a groundbreaking achievement alongside the SYS team – the successful implementation of The World's very First Oxyfuel Tundish Preheating System. This is the significant milestone in steelmaking innovation.

In the steelmaking industry, tundish preheating is a critical process that traditionally consumes a substantial amount of energy. Linde invested several years to researching and developing an innovative oxyfuel technology specifically for this application. Leveraging its strong business partnership with SYS and mutual trust, SYS agreed to adopt this pioneering technology at their plant.

Key Achievements After Installation and Commissioning:
